More About Yarni

I know, I know, there are two new sock yarns at the store and I do want you to check them out. They are Berroco Comfort socks. This is our second sock yarn with NO WOOL. This one is 50% Super Fine Nylon, 50% Super Fine Acrylic. It's soft. For those of you who are knitting for people with allergies or just a sensitive foot, this might be for you.

The second new sock yarn is Plymouth's Happy Feet (90% Superwash Merino, 10% nylon).

But the real reason for this post is to remind you all of our very lovely Yarni. This (not limited to) sock yarn is hand dyed by our very own V. I had started a pair of monkey socks in fashionable pink before the holidays and I had to set them aside to finish up my present knitting. Yesterday, I pulled them out again and within a matter of moments was tactilely reminded of just how great this yarn is. It it flows through your fingers like silk (and there is not a lick of silk in it). The colors are soft and quiet - the pink I chose reminds me of a big pile of cotton candy. I don't think I can knit fast enough to get these on my feet. I'm looking forward to the feeling against me skin.

And speaking of soft Yarni against ones skin. Please note that Yarni also makes an excellent baby sweater (as seen in our pattern by Mary Lou)
So I recommend, for those of you who haven't tried it... TRY IT!!

And I'll soon be posting those finished Monkey socks. i promise.

You inspired me to get reunited with my Yarni project as well. It is not socks or a baby sweater but a chevron patterned scarf. I am loving each and every latte colored stitch. And I agree it does feel oh so good running through my fingers.
